iPhone App-vertising

More and more advertisers are looking at using the phenomenon of iPhone apps as means to promote their own brand. With thousands of apps on the market it is becoming increasing saturated and more difficult to find exploitable niches but media buyers are still scrambling to lend their brand to one of the top ten apps.

Advertisers are approaching developers directly when they believe that a winning app is in the making, with a view to being able to advertise directly through it. This investment is definitely helping to fuel the mass production of these applications and can ultimately only be of benefit to the user who will have a wealth of choice.

It does seem a strange market to be utilising, due to the time and expense that it must take to research the new applications, coupled with the fact that mobile advertising only accounts for just over one percent of the advertising market.
